Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the level of job involvement that employees have and how much influence Islamic work ethics has on the level of job involvement. This research conducted at the Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan (UMKT) which has a subject 80 people. The sampling technique used is random sampling, meaning that all employees have the same opportunity to be part of this study. The measuring tool that will be used to measure work involvement is to adapt the Job Involvement Levels (JIL) scale from Karacaoglu (Uygur, 2009) consisting of 22 items, while to measure Islamic work ethics using the Islamic work ethics scale adapted from Ali and Owaihan (Firmansyah and Kadiyono, 2010) as many as 13 items. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, it was obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a significant influence of Islamic work ethics on work involvement with an r square score of 0.543, so the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is accepted.
