AGRITROP: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Pertanian (Journal of Agricultural Science)

AGRITROP: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Pertanian (Journal of Agricultural Science) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, Indonesia. The journal was established as a scientific publication medium for disseminating research results, scientific studies, and academic developments in agricultural sciences.

AGRITROP publishes original research articles and scientific studies covering various agricultural disciplines, including agronomy, crop production, horticulture, plant protection, soil science, agricultural biotechnology, agricultural technology, and other related fields. The journal is managed by the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, and is published regularly twice a year in June and December.

Development of Journal Management

Since its establishment, AGRITROP has continuously developed its publication management system following advances in scientific publishing technology. The journal archive demonstrates continuous publication activities, with digital records available since Volume 11 Number 1 in 2013.

In the early stage of electronic journal management, AGRITROP implemented Open Journal Systems Version 2 (OJS 2) through the official journal platform:

The implementation of OJS 2 enabled online manuscript submission, editorial workflow management, peer-review processing, publication scheduling, and online access to published articles. This transition improved transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of journal management.

Migration from OJS 2 to OJS 3

In 2024, AGRITROP upgraded its electronic publishing system by migrating from Open Journal Systems Version 2 (OJS 2) to Open Journal Systems Version 3 (OJS 3).

The migration to OJS 3 was conducted to improve editorial workflow, manuscript management, metadata quality, user experience for authors and reviewers, and compliance with international electronic journal management standards.

Accreditation History

AGRITROP has participated in the national journal accreditation system managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia through the Science and Technology Index (SINTA).

AGRITROP currently holds the accreditation status of SINTA 3 based on Decree Number 225/E/KPT/2022. The accreditation is valid for the period 2021–2026.

This accreditation reflects the journal's commitment to maintaining scientific quality through proper editorial management, peer-review implementation, publication ethics, and continuous improvement of journal governance.

AGRITROP has expanded its visibility through various academic indexing platforms and digital scholarly services, including:

DOI implementation supports permanent article identification, citation tracking, and long-term accessibility of published research articles.
