Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) document file format.
  • The manuscript has been written according to the article template that has been determined by Belajar Bahasa.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Maximum similarity index of 20% (It is better if the manuscript has been checked first)

Author Guidelines

  1. Introduction

Learning Language: Scientific Journal of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program and (eISSN:2503-0329 and pISSN: 2502-5864 ) is the Scientific Journal of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Managed by the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program and published by the University of Muhammadiyah Jember with a frequency of twice a year, in February and September.

Focus and Scope of Language Learning: The Scientific Journal of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program contains the results of research and/or literature studies in the fields of Indonesian language and literature education, Indonesian language studies, and Indonesian literature.

The Language Learning Journal Editor Team invites you to contribute as the author of this journal paper. Example of writing an article format here .


  1. Writing the title, name and address of the author

The title of the manuscript should be written at the top of the first page in the middle. Meanwhile, the author's name (without an academic degree), and the author's affiliation address, must be written. Keywords should be arranged alphabetically between three to five words.

Contributing authors must be listed first, followed by the second, third, etc. If there is more than one author, the second author's name is placed next to the first author, separated by a comma (,). If the author's name contains at least two words, the first name should not be abbreviated. If the author's name is only one word, then it is written as his name. But specifically for the online version, the author's name will be written in two words with repeated names for the sake of metadata indexing.


  1. General Terms of the Manuscript

The general provisions of the manuscript are as follows

  • Manuscripts are authentic research results that have never been published.
  • The manuscript does not contain elements of plagiarism. The Editorial Board will directly reject manuscripts that are indicated as plagiarism (minimum 20%).
  • Manuscripts that have been written according to the provisions of the Language Learning journal (with Ms. Word, using a template) must be submitted online using the Open Journal System (OJS) on the Language Learning Journal portal
  • The template and terms of article writing use the Ms. format. Downloadable Word.
  • Manuscripts that do not comply with the provisions of the Language Learning journal will be returned to the author prior to the review process.
  • Manuscripts must contain several aspects of scientific articles, namely: (a) article title, (b) author name (without title), (c) author affiliation address, (d) author email, (e) abstract and keywords, (f) introduction , (g) research methods, (h) discussion, (i) conclusions, (j) list of references.
  • The subtitles included in the discussion section (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusions) should use Arabic numbers starting from one. The subtitle is written not in bold.
  • Manuscripts consist of five to fifteen pages. Don't put page numbers
  • The submitted manuscript must be camera ready.
  • Articles are written using A4 paper size, with the following margins: left 25 mm, right 20 mm, bottom 20 mm and top 30 mm
  • The text in the article uses the font type Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 spaced and one column.
  • Words that are foreign languages are written in italics.
  • Each image is numbered followed by an image title below the image.
  • Each table is numbered followed by a table title above the table.
  • Each figure, table and graph is placed in the center.
  • If necessary, the author can add a thank you to certain parties, such as research sponsors, state clearly and briefly, avoid flowery or exaggerated statements of gratitude.

  1. Provisions for the Contents of the Manuscript

Manuscript Title: 

The title should be informative and clearly written. The title should not lead to different interpretations. The first letter is capitalized and symmetrical. Article titles must not contain uncommon abbreviations. Article title is a maximum of 13 words, giving an overview of the research that has been carried out in Times New Roman font 14 pt, bold. While the abstract contains 150-250 words and is followed by three to five keywords.

Preliminary: 

The introduction includes the background or issue/problem and rationalization (research or service), The background can also contain the urgency of writing in the article. Urgency includes the importance of the study from various perspectives, benefits, and outcomes of writing. [Times New Roman 12, spaced 1.15, 0 pt].

Research Methods :

The method contains the method or approach taken, procedures, instruments, data collection techniques and data analysis techniques as well as other matters related to the research method.

Discussion:

The discussion presents the research results. Research results can be equipped with tables, graphs (pictures), or charts. The discussion section describes the results of data processing, interprets the findings logically, relates them to relevant and up-to-date reference sources.


Conclusion:

The conclusion presents a summary of the description of the results and discussion, referring to the research objectives. Based on these two things, new ideas are developed which are the essence of the research findings.

If necessary, the author can add a thank you to certain parties, such as research sponsors, state clearly and briefly, avoid flowery or exaggerated statements of gratitude.

References/List of References : The list of references only contains all the references cited in the written text. The reference list must contain reference libraries originating from primary sources (scientific journals and amounting to a minimum of 60% of the total reference list) published in the last ten years.


  1. Conditions for Citation and Referral List

All data or phrases or sentences in articles taken from other articles must be sourced. It is recommended to write a reference list using a reference manager application such as Mendeley, Zotero or others. The citation writing format and bibliography used in the Language Learning journal follow the American Psychological Association/ (APA) Style format.


 

  1. Conditions for Submitting Manuscripts Online

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online using the Open Journal System (OJS) on the Language Learning Journal portal HERE .
  • First, the author registers as a reader or writer (tick the desired one) on the register menu HERE
  • After the registration step is complete, login as author, click "New Submission". The submission stage consists of five steps, namely (1) Start, (2) Upload Submission, (3) Enter Metadata, (4) Upload Supplementary Files if needed, then (5) Confirmation.
  • In the "Start" column, select Journal Section (Full Article), check all.
  • In the "Upload Submission" column, download the script file in Ms. Word in this column.
  • In the "Enter Metadata" column, fill in all author and affiliate data along with the article title, abstract and keywords.
  • In the "Upload Supplementary Files" column, the author is allowed to upload supporting files such as statements, etc.
  • In the "Confirmation" column, if the data entered is correct, then click "Finish Submission".
