Strategi Penggunaan Bahasa dalam Meme untuk Mencapai Seni Humor di Media Sosial

This research aims to describe the forms of language styles in Indonesian memes sourced from social media. This research takes a formal object, namely Stylistics which focuses on language style, including sarcasm, satire, irony, personification, hyperbole, epsitropha, and metaphor. The material objects are some meme content circulating on social media. These two objects were raised because of the rise in meme content which usually represents certain phenomena, current hot issues or is just humor. The aim of this research is to find out the meaning of memes from a stylistic perspective, especially language style. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method using documentation methods, viewing or analyzing documents created by other people. In this case, the researcher records the language or writing, then analyzes it using stylistic studies. The data taken was 27 memes circulating on social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. Of the 27 memes, several uses of language styles were found, such as sarcasm, satire, irony, personification, hyperbole, epsitropha and metaphor. The dominant language styles that emerge are satire and sarcasme. Apart from that, from this analysis it can be seen that memes are sometimes not just jokes, but in the form of satire, rejection and criticism. With this research, researchers were able to find the meaning and variety of language styles used in memes on social media.
