Post Publication Discussion
AGRITROP: Journal of Agricultural Sciences recognizes that scientific communication continues after publication. The journal encourages responsible post-publication discussion to improve understanding, clarify findings, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
AGRITROP follows the principles recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) that journals should provide transparent mechanisms for addressing concerns, correcting errors, and maintaining the reliability of published research (COPE, Core Practices).
Readers, researchers, and authors may submit scientific comments or concerns regarding published articles. All communications must be evidence-based, respectful, and focused on scientific issues. When appropriate, authors of the original article may be invited to provide a response.
Post-Publication Corrections
AGRITROP may publish corrections when errors are identified after publication and when correction is necessary to maintain the accuracy of the scientific record.
Depending on the nature of the issue, the journal may issue:
- Erratum – a correction of errors introduced during the journal production or publishing process.
- Corrigendum – a correction of errors originating from the authors that do not affect the validity of the main conclusions.
- Addendum – additional information that improves understanding of the published article without changing the original findings.
Correction notices are permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency and preserve the publication history.
Expression of Concern and Retraction
AGRITROP may issue an Expression of Concern when serious questions arise regarding a published article but an investigation is incomplete or further evidence is required.
An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable or that serious ethical violations have occurred, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or major research misconduct.
Retraction notices will clearly identify the original article, explain the reason for retraction, and remain permanently linked to the published record in accordance with COPE recommendations (COPE, Retraction Guidelines).
Transparency of the Scholarly Record
AGRITROP maintains the original published article while attaching any correction, addendum, expression of concern, or retraction notice to ensure that readers can access the complete publication history.
All post-publication actions are conducted transparently, fairly, and based on available evidence to protect research integrity and public trust in scholarly communication (COPE, Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing).
