Correction Retraction & Withdrawal

Jurnal Penelitian IPTEKS is strictly dedicated to maintaining the absolute integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the scholarly record. While every effort is made to ensure the highest quality of published manuscripts through rigorous peer review, errors or ethical breaches may occasionally be identified after publication. In such instances, the journal will act promptly and transparently to correct the academic record in accordance with the standards set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding Post-publication Discussions and Corrections.
Corrections (Errata or Corrigenda): If an honest, unintentional error is discovered that affects the accuracy of the published record but does not invalidate the overall scientific conclusions (e.g., typographical errors in formulas, author list corrections, or minor methodological misstatements), the journal will publish a formal correction notice. This notice will be permanently and clearly linked to the original article to ensure readers are aware of the updated information.
Retractions: The journal considers article retraction to be a necessary mechanism for correcting the literature and alerting readers to publications that contain severely flawed or erroneous data, ensuring that the academic community does not rely on invalid findings. A manuscript may be retracted if there is clear evidence of unreliability due to major errors (e.g., severe miscalculation or experimental error), or as a result of academic misconduct such as data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or duplicate publication. The editorial board conducts all retraction processes objectively, systematically following the COPE Retraction Guidelines. Retracted articles remain accessible online to maintain the digital archive, but they are clearly watermarked as "RETRACTED" on every page to prevent further citation of the flawed data.
Withdrawals: Article withdrawal is an action typically reserved for manuscripts that have been submitted, under review, or accepted but not yet formally published in a finalized issue. An article may be withdrawn if it is discovered to have been simultaneously submitted to another journal, contains substantial pre-publication errors, or fundamentally violates ethical policies before the final version of record is established.
By actively enforcing these mechanisms for amending the literature, the journal fulfills its ethical responsibility to researchers and readers alike, aligning directly with the overarching principles of the COPE Core Practices.
