Electronic Filing and Archiving

Electronic Filing and Archiving Policy
ELLITE: English Language, Literature, and Teaching Journal is highly committed to the long-term preservation and secure electronic archiving of all published scholarly literature, strictly adhering to the fundamental principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for transparent scholarly publishing (COPE Core Practices). To ensure that all digital content remains permanently accessible to the global academic community, the journal implements a robust electronic filing system and long-term digital preservation strategy, as required by COPE's best practice guidelines (COPE Principles of Transparency).

Long-Term Digital Preservation Networks
In the event that the journal or publisher stops operating, our electronic archiving policy guarantees that all published manuscripts will be safeguarded through recognized digital preservation networks, such as PKP PN, CLOCKSS, or Portico, fulfilling COPE's mandate for securing the scholarly record against technological disruptions (COPE Focus on Journal Management). The editorial team assumes full responsibility for maintaining these electronic backup platforms to prevent data loss and unauthorized manipulation, strictly following the ethical management workflows expected of standard journals (COPE Journal Management).

Maintaining the Scholarly Record
The electronic filing system is systematically updated to reflect any post-publication amendments, meaning that any published errata, expressions of concern, or retraction notices are permanently linked to the original archived article to maintain maximum transparency (COPE Post-Publication Discussions). Furthermore, should an article be formally retracted, the journal guarantees that the original document will remain in the digital archive to preserve academic history but will be clearly watermarked as "retracted" across all electronic formats, strictly adhering to COPE's standard retraction protocols (COPE Retraction Guidelines).

Data Availability and Supplementary Repositories
Beyond the main manuscripts, authors are strongly encouraged to utilize secure, publicly accessible electronic repositories for archiving their supplementary materials and research data, which aligns with COPE’s directives to foster scientific reproducibility (COPE Data and Reproducibility). By ensuring that these supplementary data sets are electronically filed and available alongside the primary article, ELLITE actively promotes rigorous data availability policies and safeguards the complete scholarly evidence base for future academic investigations (COPE Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing).
