Post Publication Discussion

Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections Policy
ELLITE: English Language, Literature, and Teaching Journal actively encourages and supports post-publication discussions, adhering strictly to the core practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the continuous evaluation and self-correction of published research (COPE Core Practices). According to COPE, journals must implement a clearly defined, transparent mechanism to allow debates, post-publication critiques, and scholarly discussions regarding the articles they have published to ensure the ongoing integrity of the scientific record (COPE Topic: Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections).

Handling Critiques and Complaints
The journal provides a formal platform for readers, whistleblowers, and scholars to submit letters to the editor, commentaries, or formal complaints if they identify significant errors, methodological flaws, or ethical concerns in any published manuscript, ensuring that all correspondence is handled respectfully and thoroughly (COPE Principles of Transparency). When post-publication critiques or serious concerns are directly raised, the editorial board will systematically assess the claims and provide the original authors with a fair opportunity to respond to the criticisms, strictly following COPE's procedural flowcharts for managing complaints (COPE Flowchart: Responding to Whistleblowers Concerns Raised Directly).

Issuing Corrections, Errata, and Retractions
If post-publication discussions and subsequent investigations reveal genuine, honest errors that affect the accuracy but not the overall validity of the research, the journal will swiftly publish an erratum or corrigendum to transparently correct the academic literature without penalizing the authors (COPE Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections). However, if the discussion uncovers severe ethical breaches—such as fabricated data, plagiarism, or fundamentally flawed findings that invalidate the study—the journal is ethically obligated to issue a formal expression of concern or a full retraction, meticulously complying with COPE's specific protocols for removing invalid research from the literature (COPE Retraction Guidelines).

Maintaining the Integrity of the Scholarly Record
The editorial team guarantees that all post-publication corrections, expressions of concern, and retraction notices are prominently published and permanently digitally linked to the original published article in our electronic archiving system to ensure maximum visibility and clarity for future readers (COPE Topic: Journal Management). By actively facilitating rigorous post-publication debate and taking prompt corrective actions when necessary, ELLITE actively contributes to the self-correcting nature of science and upholds the highest standards of academic integrity as envisioned by the global scholarly community (COPE Core Practices).
