Jurnal Sport-Mu is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, rigor, and ethics in sports science and physical education publications. In compliance with the fundamental standards set out in the COPE Core Practices, the editorial board takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously and adheres to fair, impartial, and well-documented investigation procedures.
Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to, data fabrication, data falsification, plagiarism, redundant or duplicate publication, image manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and ethical breaches involving human participants in sports science research.
2. Handling Specific Types of Misconduct Allegations
When allegations regarding fabricated data or manipulated figure images surface after publication, the Editor-in-Chief executes the procedure outlined in the COPE Flowchart on Fabricated Data in a Published Article, requiring authors to submit original raw research data for audit.
In cases where plagiarism or major textual overlap is reported in a published article, Jurnal Sport-Mu evaluates the claim using the COPE Flowchart on Plagiarism in a Published Article to decide whether a formal correction or retraction is warranted.
Jurnal Sport-Mu protects the confidentiality of whistleblowers and accepts anonymous allegations provided that verifiable and objective evidence is supplied to support the claim.
4. Investigation Procedures and Institutional Coordination
If an investigation concludes that severe misconduct has compromised the validity of the research, Jurnal Sport-Mu will retract the paper in accordance with the official COPE Retraction Guidelines.
In cases involving honest errors or minor omissions that do not invalidate the scientific conclusions, the journal will issue a formal Correction notice in line with the COPE Core Practices.
