Publication Ethics

The Penelitian sport-mu journal is committed to upholding scientific integrity and ethical practices throughout the entire publication process. This publication ethics guideline strictly adopts the Core Practices developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The following are our publication ethics principles:

1. Authorship and Contributorship

  • Authors must ensure and guarantee that all individuals listed as authors have participated and contributed significantly to the research and the preparation of the manuscript. (COPE Source: Authorship and Contributorship)
  • Any changes regarding authorship information (such as the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of authors) requested after the manuscript is submitted must be communicated to the editor and follow the applicable authorship dispute procedures. (COPE Source: Authorship Disputes)

2. Peer Review Processes

  • The journal implements a fair, objective, and confidential peer review policy. All processes are managed transparently to maintain the quality of the publication. (COPE Source: Peer Review Processes)
  • Considering that peer review processes are susceptible to manipulation, we require editors, reviewers, and authors to adhere strictly to ethical guidelines to prevent peer review manipulation. (COPE Source: Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers)

3. Plagiarism and Intellectual Property

  • We strictly prohibit all forms of plagiarism and copyright infringement. The editorial team reserves the right to use similarity-checking software to detect text overlap before the manuscript is processed further. (COPE Source: Intellectual Property)
  • The practice of reusing one's own previously published text without transparency or appropriate citation (known as text recycling or self-plagiarism) is an ethical violation and will be firmly addressed. (COPE Source: Text Recycling Guidelines)

4. Conflicts of Interest / Competing Interests

  • All forms of potential conflicts of interest—whether personal, commercial, financial, or non-financial relationships—that could interfere with objectivity must be honestly declared by authors, reviewers, and editors. (COPE Source: Competing Interests)
  • As a form of public transparency, a declaration statement regarding conflicts of interest (or a statement indicating that there are no competing interests) will always be included in the published manuscript. (COPE Source: Handling Competing Interests)

5. Allegations of Misconduct

  • This journal does not tolerate any form of academic misconduct, including data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, and plagiarism. (COPE Source: Allegations of Misconduct)
  • We take all reports of alleged misconduct seriously (whether reported pre-publication or post-publication) and will handle them by following the standard investigation procedures using the flowcharts designed by COPE. (COPE Source: COPE Flowcharts)

6. Complaints and Appeals

  • The Penelitian sport-mu journal provides a clear mechanism for handling complaints and appeals. Authors or other parties have the right to appeal editorial decisions if there is evidence of procedural irregularities. (COPE Source: Complaints and Appeals)
