Manuscript Types
INSIGHT: Jurnal Pemikiran dan Penelitian Psikologi accepts several types of submissions that contribute to the advancement of psychological science. Regardless of the manuscript type, all submissions are subject to rigorous peer review and strict ethical evaluations.
1. Original Research Articles These are comprehensive reports of original empirical research in psychology, including both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. To ensure the integrity of human subjects research, authors submitting original empirical work must explicitly document their ethical oversight and informed consent protocols, in accordance with the COPE principles on ethical oversight. Furthermore, to support scientific verifiability, authors of original research are expected to follow transparent practices regarding data availability, as outlined by the COPE guidelines on data and reproducibility.
2. Review Articles (Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) These manuscripts provide critical, comprehensive evaluations of existing literature on specific psychological topics. Because review articles rely heavily on the synthesis of previously published data, authors must rigorously attribute all primary sources to prevent intellectual property violations, adhering to the COPE directives on handling allegations of misconduct and plagiarism.
3. Case Studies and Clinical Reports These papers offer in-depth analyses of specific individuals, groups, or clinical interventions within psychological practice. Given the highly sensitive nature of clinical data, authors submitting case studies must ensure strict participant confidentiality, anonymize personal identifiers, and provide proof of informed consent, aligning precisely with the COPE guidelines for ethical oversight and the protection of vulnerable populations.
4. Brief Reports Brief reports are shorter manuscripts that present preliminary findings, novel methodological approaches, or replications of previous psychological studies. Even for abbreviated submissions, authors must transparently list all intellectual contributions to ensure accurate attribution, strictly following the COPE Core Practices for authorship and contributorship.
General Requirement for All Manuscript Types Across all categories of submission, every author is required to proactively disclose any financial, personal, or institutional affiliations that could be perceived as biasing their research, complying fully with the COPE policy on competing interests.
