Plagiarism Policy
INSIGHT: Jurnal Pemikiran dan Penelitian Psikologi maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and all forms of academic dishonesty. To protect the integrity of psychological science, our approach to detecting and handling plagiarism is strictly guided by the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
-
Definition and Prevention: Plagiarism in any form—including uncredited copying of others' work, self-plagiarism (salami slicing), and inadequate citation of ideas—is strictly prohibited, as the journal actively enforces clear policies on intellectual property to protect original contributions and prevent unauthorized reuse.
-
Active Screening Mechanism and Similarity Threshold: To maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity, the journal operates a proactive screening mechanism on all submitted manuscripts using Turnitin, enforcing a maximum similarity limit of 20% in accordance with the Rector's Decree of Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember No. [Insert Decree Number Here], which is fully supported by a well-described, transparent infrastructure for journal management.
-
Handling Misconduct Before Publication: If plagiarism or substantial unoriginal content (exceeding the permitted similarity threshold) is detected at any point during the initial screening or peer-review process, the editor will immediately reject the manuscript and take further responsive measures, rigorously following the COPE directives for handling allegations of misconduct.
-
Handling Misconduct After Publication: In the event that plagiarism is discovered and proven after an article has already been published, the journal will initiate a formal investigation and subsequently publish retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern when necessary to preserve the scholarly record, in full alignment with the COPE rules on post-publication discussions and corrections.
-
Appeals and Fair Investigations: Should an author be accused of plagiarism, the journal guarantees a fair and objective investigation, ensuring that a clearly defined and fair process for handling complaints and appeals is strictly followed before any final punitive decisions are made.
