Abstract

An individual's mental health can be affected by their lifestyle choices. The minimalist lifestyle is a growing lifestyle choice associated with sustainable behavior and positive mental health. This study aims to explore the benefits of minimalist lifestyle on mental health. The method used in this research is literature review using PRISMA-ScR. This research uses articles that have been obtained from four databases namely Science Direct, Springer Link, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar. There are six empirical research articles using quantitative and qualitative approaches that show that minimalist lifestyle provides positive benefits to individual mental health. The study results show that minimalist lifestyle can improve well-being, promote positive emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote social connectedness. Ultimately, this can help individuals to achieve positive mental health.
