Abstract

Sexuality education is the provision of knowledge about the biological, emotional, and social aspects of gender and human relationships. Providing sexuality education from an early age is crucial for helping children understand themselves and recognize personal boundaries. This study aims to obtain an overview of parental knowledge regarding sexuality education for children in Curahlele Village, Jember. The study used a descriptive quantitative method, with a population of 60 fathers and mothers with children in the village, with the entire population being sampled through accidental sampling. The research instrument was a 50-item parental knowledge scale (α = 0.880). Data analysis was conducted using descriptive tests. The results showed that parental knowledge regarding sexuality education for children varied; the highest level of knowledge related to acceptable body parts (80%), while the lowest level related to actions to take in the event of sexual violence (12%). These findings emphasize the importance of educational programs that emphasize improving child response and protection through appropriate sexuality education for parents.
