Pengaruh Employee Recognition Terhadap Job Performance Pegawai Rumah Sakit X Jember
Keywords:

This study is motivated by the importance of human resource management within organizations, particularly in improving employee performance through various forms of non-financial rewards. One factor considered capable of enhancing performance is employee recognition, which refers to acknowledgment of employees’ contributions and achievements in the workplace. In the context of healthcare services, employee performance is a crucial aspect as it is directly related to the quality of services provided to the community. This study aims to determine the extent to which employee recognition influences job performance among employees of the Jember X Hospital. The research adopts a quantitative correlational approach, with a total population of 408 employees. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula, resulting in 202 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. The research instruments consisted of an employee recognition scale developed by Cannon based on the concepts of Brun and Dugas, as well as the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) developed by Koopmans. All items in both scales have been tested for validity and demonstrated high reliability, with coefficients of 0.958 and 0.840, respectively. The results of data analysis indicate a positive and significant effect of employee recognition on job performance (p < 0.05; R² = 0.538). These findings suggest that the higher the employees’ positive perceptions of the recognition provided by the organization, the better their job performance in carrying out daily work tasks. The implication is that organizations, particularly hospitals, need to optimize employee recognition practices as a managerial strategy to enhance employee performance and overall service quality.
