Quarter-life crisis (QLC) is a transitional crisis during emerging adulthood that encompasses the domains of identity, life direction, relationships, and career; this crisis can be accompanied by anxiety, but is not identical to it. Final-year college students are at this transitional point because they must complete their final assignments and prepare for career steps. This study aims to examine emotional regulation and perceived social support as predictors of QLC in final-year college students in Samarinda. The design used was a correlational-predictive cross-sectional study with 356 students recruited online through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the QLC scale, Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale–Short Form (DERS-SF), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The overall model was significant, F(2, 353) = 155.66, p < 0.001, R² = 0.469 (corrected R² = 0.466; f² = 0.88). Emotional regulation was negatively associated with QLC (B = −0.354; β = −0.454; 95% CI (−0.416; −0.292); p < 0.001) in accordance with the hypothesis, meaning that the better the student's ability to manage their emotions, the lower the perceived crisis. Perceived social support was positively associated with QLC after emotional regulation was controlled (B = 0.316; β = 0.395; 95% CI (0.252; 0.380); p < 0.001) so that the hypothesis was not supported. Therefore, emotional regulation functions as an internal protective factor from QLC, while the role of social support is more complex and requires further longitudinal research to distinguish the types and sources of support. Emotional regulation training is recommended as a counseling service intervention program for final year students.
