Correction Retraction & Withdrawal
Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis Indonesia is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. We recognize that despite rigorous peer review and editorial processes, errors or ethical breaches may occasionally occur. To address these situations transparently and effectively, this policy outlines our procedures for correcting, retracting, and withdrawing articles, developed in strict accordance with the standards and flowcharts provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Corrections (Errata and Corrigenda)
The journal will promptly publish a correction if a significant error is discovered in a published article that affects the scientific interpretation or the integrity of the findings, but does not invalidate the research as a whole.
-
Corrigenda (Author Errors): If authors identify a significant error in their published work, they must contact the editorial office immediately to request a Corrigendum, following the COPE Guidelines for handling author-requested corrections.
-
Errata (Publisher Errors): If the journal introduces a significant error during the production process, an Erratum will be published.
-
Transparency: All published corrections will be clearly labeled, prominently linked to the original article in the digital archive, and freely accessible to ensure the scholarly record remains accurate, fulfilling the transparency requirements outlined in the COPE Core Practices.
2. Retractions
Retractions are reserved for articles whose findings are seriously compromised or where severe ethical misconduct has occurred.
-
Conditions for Retraction: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis Indonesia will consider retracting a publication if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable (e.g., due to major error, fabricated data, or falsification), if the findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing or justification (redundant publication), if the article constitutes severe plagiarism, or if it reports unethical research, in direct alignment with the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
-
Retraction Process: The editorial board will investigate allegations of misconduct thoroughly, following the appropriate COPE Flowcharts for handling suspected misconduct. If a retraction is necessary, the journal will publish a clear Retraction Notice, which will be linked to the original article and will explain the reasons for the retraction, as mandated by the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
3. Article Withdrawal (Pre-Publication)
Article withdrawal is permitted only for accepted manuscripts that have not yet been formally published in an issue (e.g., articles currently in the "In Press" or "Online First" stage).
-
Conditions for Withdrawal: Withdrawals are typically initiated when an article contains errors so significant that they cannot be corrected, or if the article is discovered to infringe on professional ethical codes, such as multiple submissions, bogus claims of authorship, or plagiarism, prior to final publication. The withdrawal process is handled in accordance with the COPE Flowcharts to ensure ethical handling of unpublished manuscripts.
-
Withdrawal Notice: For withdrawn articles, the original content will be removed, and a withdrawal notice will be put in its place to inform readers.
