Post Publication Discussion

Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis Indonesia actively encourages robust post-publication discussion and is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record by promptly addressing any errors or concerns identified after publication. This policy is aligned with the standards set forth in the COPE Core Practices on Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections.

1. Facilitating Post-Publication Discussion

The journal welcomes academic debate and post-publication commentary from readers, researchers, and the broader academic community.
  • Letters to the Editor & Commentaries: We provide a formal mechanism for readers to submit Letters to the Editor or Commentaries regarding published articles, fostering an environment where post-publication discussion is actively supported, as recommended by the COPE Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
  • Author Right of Reply: When a substantive critique or commentary is accepted for publication, the original authors will be given the opportunity to respond to the critique in the same or subsequent issue, ensuring a fair and balanced academic discourse, in accordance with the COPE Guidelines for handling post-publication critiques.

2. Handling Corrections (Errata and Corrigenda)

Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis Indonesia recognizes that honest errors may occur and is committed to correcting the scholarly record transparently and promptly.
  • Corrigenda (Author Errors): If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work that affects the scientific integrity or interpretation of the findings (but does not entirely invalidate the research), they must notify the editorial board immediately to request a Corrigendum, following the COPE Guidelines for handling author-requested corrections.
  • Errata (Publisher Errors): If the journal introduces a significant error during the editing or production process, the journal will immediately publish an Erratum.
  • Transparency of Corrections: All published corrections will be prominently linked to the original article in the digital archive to ensure readers are aware of the changes, fulfilling the transparency requirements outlined in the COPE Core Practices.

3. Handling Serious Post-Publication Concerns (Retractions)

If post-publication discussions, reader complaints, or internal investigations reveal evidence of severe research misconduct (such as data fabrication, falsification, or severe plagiarism) or fundamental errors that invalidate the main conclusions of the article, the journal will take decisive action.
  • Investigation Process: The editorial board will investigate all credible allegations in accordance with the COPE Flowcharts for handling post-publication concerns.
  • Retraction Protocol: If the concerns are validated and the findings are deemed unreliable, the journal will issue a formal Retraction. The retraction notice will clearly state the reasons for the retraction and will be linked to the original article, strictly adhering to the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
