ALLEGATIONS OF RESEARCH MISCONDUCT
The journal protects the confidentiality of individuals who raise ethical concerns and guarantees that all complaints will be thoroughly evaluated. When an allegation of misconduct is submitted by a whistleblower, the editorial team will promptly follow established protocols to appropriately respond to whistleblowers when concerns are raised directly. Investigations are conducted impartially, ensuring that accused authors are given a fair opportunity to respond to the allegations and provide supporting evidence before any formal editorial decision is made.
Any form of data fabrication, falsification, or deliberate manipulation of research findings within Islamic education studies constitutes a severe violation of academic ethics. If there is a suspicion of data fabrication during the peer-review process, the journal will immediately suspend the review and utilize the specific COPE workflow designed to handle suspected fabricated data in a submitted manuscript. Furthermore, if verifiable evidence of data manipulation is discovered after the article has already been published, the journal is obligated to initiate a formal inquiry to properly address suspected fabricated data in a published article.
The journal's primary goal in investigating any allegation of misconduct is to correct the scientific record and maintain public trust, rather than simply to punish the authors. However, if a comprehensive investigation confirms that significant research misconduct has occurred, the editorial board will take decisive and transparent action. Depending on the severity of the ethical breach, this response may include publishing an expression of concern, issuing a formal correction (erratum), or executing a complete retraction of the article in strict accordance with the official COPE Retraction Guidelines.
