PEER REVIEW PROCESS POLICY

PEER REVIEW PROCESS POLICY
Tarlim Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly excellence. To achieve this, all submitted manuscripts must undergo a rigorous, objective, and constructive peer review process. The journal strictly adheres to the core practices defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics, ensuring that our editorial team meticulously follows all standardized protocols to uphold the integrity and confidentiality of the peer review process.
Double-Blind Peer Review System
The journal employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review system. This means that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the entire evaluation process. This model is specifically implemented to prevent any potential bias based on an author's gender, institutional affiliation, or geographical origin. By ensuring anonymity, the journal guarantees that reviewers can evaluate manuscripts solely based on their intellectual merit, methodology, and relevance to Islamic educational studies, aligning with COPE's mandate to manage and mitigate potential conflicts of interest during the review phase.
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, all manuscripts are initially evaluated by the Editorial Board. This step is necessary to verify that the submission aligns with the journal's Focus and Scope, complies with the established formatting guidelines, and passes a rigorous similarity check for plagiarism. Manuscripts that do not meet these fundamental criteria, or fall outside the scope of Islamic religious education, will be rejected by the editorial team prior to peer review, ensuring that editors can efficiently manage out-of-scope content.
Reviewer Selection and Responsibilities
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers who possess relevant specialized knowledge. Reviewers are explicitly instructed to provide constructive, unbiased, and prompt feedback. They are strictly prohibited from using the unpublished data contained in the manuscript for their own research and must immediately disclose any undisclosed conflict of interest in a submitted manuscript to the editorial board.
Final Decision and Ethical Oversight
The final decision to Accept, Reject, or request Revisions (Minor or Major) rests entirely with the Editor-in-Chief, based strictly on the reviewers' recommendations. If significant ethical concerns—such as suspected data fabrication, manipulated citations, or redundant publication—are raised by the reviewers during this process, the editorial board will immediately suspend the review and utilize the appropriate COPE workflows to systematically address any allegations of research misconduct before making a final publication decision.
