CORRECTION, RETRACTION, AND WITHDRAWAL POLICY

CORRECTION, RETRACTION, AND WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Tarlim Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is deeply committed to maintaining the absolute integrity, transparency, and accuracy of the scholarly record within the field of Islamic education. We recognize that honest errors can occur in academic publishing, but we also acknowledge the severe threat posed by deliberate ethical misconduct. To address these issues responsibly, the editorial board is fully guided by COPE's core practices, which mandate that journals must clearly articulate their policies regarding post-publication discussions and corrections.
Article Corrections (Erratum and Corrigendum)
An erratum or corrigendum will be published when an honest, significant error is discovered in a published article that affects the academic record, methodology, or the interpretation of the research findings, but does not invalidate the study's overall conclusions. If an author discovers a substantial inaccuracy in their own published work, it is their ethical obligation to promptly notify the journal editor to issue a correction. The journal strictly follows COPE guidelines to ensure that all valid corrections are published promptly and are permanently linked to the original, thereby maintaining the highest ethical standards of transparency.
Article Retractions
Retractions are reserved for articles whose findings or conclusions are found to be fundamentally flawed, unreliable, or the result of severe ethical misconduct. This includes verified instances of data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, redundant publication, or severe breaches of ethical research protocols. In managing such critical breaches of scholarly integrity, the editorial board will initiate a formal investigation and execute the retraction process strictly in accordance with the official COPE Retraction Guidelines. A retraction notice will be openly published, clearly detailing the reason for the retraction, and the original article will remain accessible but prominently watermarked as "RETRACTED" to correct the scientific record without altering the digital archive.
Article Withdrawals
A withdrawal applies strictly to manuscripts that have been submitted, peer-reviewed, or accepted but have not yet been formally published (e.g., Early View or pre-print versions on the journal's platform). Authors may request a withdrawal only for compelling academic or ethical reasons, which must be clearly justified to the editorial board. If the editorial team discovers severe ethical violations (such as suspected duplicate submission or gift authorship) prior to final publication, the journal reserves the right to withdraw the manuscript. In handling these pre-publication disputes, the journal systematically utilizes COPE workflows to appropriately handle authorship disputes or other ethical concerns before finalizing the withdrawal.
Expressions of Concern
If credible allegations of research misconduct are raised against a published article, but the subsequent institutional investigation is inconclusive, severely delayed, or cannot definitively prove misconduct, the journal may issue an Expression of Concern. This action is taken to transparently alert the readership to potential issues with the data or methodology, aligning with our commitment to respond to whistleblowers when concerns are raised directly while awaiting conclusive evidence.
