About the Journal
TARLIM: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam was first published in 2018, with Volume 1, Number 1, released in March 2018. This inaugural issue featured seven articles focusing on Islamic education. In the same year, TARLIM published its second issue, Volume 1, Number 2, in September 2018, containing seven articles related to Islamic education.
In March 2019, TARLIM published Volume 2, Number 1, featuring eight articles authored by academics from various public and private higher education institutions across Indonesia. These early publications reflected the journal's commitment to providing an academic platform for the dissemination of research and scholarly ideas in Islamic education.
In 2019, TARLIM underwent its first journal accreditation process through the Akreditasi Jurnal Nasional (ARJUNA) system, managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. As a result, TARLIM was awarded SINTA 5 accreditation, as stipulated in Decree No. 36/E/KPT/2019, entitled Peringkat Akreditasi Jurnal Ilmiah Periode VII Tahun 2019, dated 13 December 2019.
In 2022, TARLIM underwent a re-accreditation process through the same ARJUNA system. This process resulted in an improvement in its accreditation status to SINTA 4, as stipulated in Decree No. 204/E/KPT/2022, entitled Peringkat Akreditasi Jurnal Ilmiah Periode II Tahun 2022, dated 3 October 2022. This achievement marked an important milestone in the journal's ongoing efforts to improve its editorial management and publication quality.
Continuous improvements have been implemented to strengthen the journal's management, presentation, and publishing standards. In 2023, TARLIM migrated its journal management system from Open Journal Systems (OJS) 2 to OJS 3. Along with this migration, several significant changes were introduced, including the revision and modernization of the article template and the redesign of the journal's cover and issue layouts. These improvements were intended to enhance the journal's visual identity, editorial consistency, online accessibility, and overall publication quality.
Through these successive developments, TARLIM has continued to strengthen its commitment to academic excellence, professional editorial management, and the dissemination of high-quality scholarship in Islamic education. The journal remains dedicated to continuous improvement in its publication standards, editorial policies, and scholarly visibility.
Tarlim: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes original research articles and scientific studies in the field of Islamic Education. The journal is managed by the Department of Islamic Education, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, and is published by Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Tarlim is published biannually, in March and September, and carries P-ISSN 2615-7225 and E-ISSN 2621-847X.
All manuscripts submitted through the Tarlim Open Journal Systems (OJS) undergo an initial screening conducted by the editorial team, including both internal and external editors. During this stage, the editors evaluate the manuscript's compliance with the journal's focus and scope, adherence to the author guidelines and manuscript template, and the similarity index using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index below 24% and that meet all editorial requirements proceed to the peer-review stage.
