COPYRIGHT AND LICENSE POLICY

Copyright and License Policy
Tarlim: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is an open-access academic journal dedicated to the global dissemination of knowledge in Islamic education. In strict compliance with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, our journal requires that policies regarding copyright and publishing licenses must be clearly described on the journal's website, and these terms must also be explicitly indicated on all published articles—both in HTML and PDF formats. This ensures that authors, readers, and institutions have a definitive understanding of their legal rights and the terms of reuse.
Copyright Retention
Upon the acceptance of a manuscript (including original research, literature reviews, or pedagogical methodologies), authors retain full copyright and publishing rights without restrictions, while granting the journal the right of first publication. The journal firmly supports the principle that authors should maintain significant control over their intellectual property. This transparency is vital, as it is our editorial duty to clearly establish who holds the intellectual property rights for every published manuscript.
Licensing and Reuse Permissions
All articles published in Tarlim are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This licensing framework specifies exactly how the scholarly community may access, share, and adapt the published work, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and any adapted material is distributed under the same license. Our transparent licensing policy is fundamentally designed to prevent any ambiguity commonly associated with deceptive publishing practices. By utilizing this standardized CC license, we guarantee that the specific terms for the legal reuse of our authors' research are unambiguous, publicly accessible, and strictly aligned with ethical publishing core practices.
Handling Copyright Infringement
The journal rigorously protects the intellectual property of its contributors. Should any allegations arise concerning the unauthorized use of data, unlicensed reproduction of published articles, or theft of intellectual property, the editorial board will take immediate and decisive action. We are committed to employing established COPE workflows to systematically investigate and address suspected copyright infringement or plagiarism in a published article, up to and including the issuance of a formal retraction in accordance with COPE's retraction guidelines if severe intellectual property violations are confirmed.
